Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... Akil Patterson is an indispensable figure in the LGBT sports arena. He has been involved in the pursuit of LGBT equality in sports. In addition, he is an advocate for ending discrimination, homophobia and transphobia in the sporting community. He currently is heavily involed with Athlete Ally a non-profit org that is dedicated to eradicating discrimination, while establishing allyship. Akil has a tremendous amount of accolades that span athletics and advocacy - his accomplishments and persistence in the LGBT community has been recognized the NFL, NHL, WNBA, Athlete Ally, MillerCoors, The Advocate, Baltimore Sun, Huffington Post, Affinity Magazine to name a few --Akpatterson (talk) 23:20, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
