He and his partner in his banking endeavors, Charles Cawley, FOUNDED MBNA. source of his wealth[edit]

al lerner made a fortune in real estate. at one time he have over 11,000 rental properties. he did invest 100 million of his own money in the inital public offering of mbna and he turned that into approx 3.8 billion in net worth when his share of mbna stock was worth that much.
