Floated[edit]

Floated. Unsure whether it's a stub or start class. Needs photo which can be uploaded here (note: the photographer is presumed to own the copyright, ie a person simply can't fish an image off the Internet.)--Tomwsulcer (talk) 11:16, 25 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Name of shooting in lead paragraph[edit]

Bringing this here. I would stick with Parkland shooting. --Malerooster (talk) 22:51, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Kindly explain your reasoning.--Tomwsulcer (talk) 22:59, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Tomwsulcer, I would just stick with the most common name, rather than using carnage, massacre, or slaughter. Isn't shooting the most common name? I could be wrong. This was probably already discussed at the main article on the shooting. How do other articles refer to it? --Malerooster (talk) 23:09, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
For a contributor like yourself who chooses to engage in personal attacks, you might consider that the English language affords us choices, so that we don't always have to use the "common" (read: BORING) usage. You might defer to the judgment of a published author.--Tomwsulcer (talk) 23:19, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I'll pass. That author has sh*t for brains. --Malerooster (talk) 23:22, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Another personal attack.--Tomwsulcer (talk) 23:43, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but that author, I wouldn't even call them that, writes garbage. --Malerooster (talk) 23:56, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
"Parkland slaughter" is definitely not appropriate. Why not use "Stoneman Douglas High School shooting"? This discussion shows a pretty clear consensus to refer to it that way. -- irn (talk) 17:03, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I tried that but was revert 4 times. --Malerooster (talk) 20:18, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
