diary farming ?

I assume dairy farming.

This article desperately needs citation sources! Heritagefarm (talk) 16:00, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article needs no citations; it was copied almost entirely from http://www.alfalaval.com/about-us/our-company/history/Pages/History.aspx Heritagefarm (talk) 16:06, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Maritime Student Contribution[edit]

My angle of research was maritime focused. Article needs further development on Alfa Laval's contribution to the Energy and Food industries.

Competitors[edit]

I do not think it is correct to call Doosan Alfa Laval's main competitor. In my opinion a company like GEA or SPX has much more overlap in product offering. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RealRoy (talkcontribs) 14:15, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

2008 Titanium theft[edit]

I edited the paragraph to refer to the theft of Titanium not titan and tweaked some grammar that suggested that it was contained in two trailers that "drove themselves to Poland". I have no knowledge of that but I suspect there was some human involvement...!

In order to confirm the metal that was stolen I found this article from a firm of Swedish lawyers "Setterwalls" which to me confirms that the theft took place and additionally the Company had to take a case to court in order to get an insurance policy to be paid out for it.SlySven (talk) 02:27, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New proposal for Alfa Laval article[edit]

  • What I think should be changed (include citations):

I think the entire article needs updating and restructuring, including relevant citations.

  • Why it should be changed:

The current article is unstructured, somewhat confusing, and lacks many citations. Instead of trying to fix one small part at a time, I have tried to rewrite the entire article to provide a better framework for future updates.

  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button):

I have a proposal at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Alfa_Laval (it was moved from my Sandbox when I tried to submit it for approval, I don't know if that was correct of me or not, I am not experienced). I hope you will find that the article is not a promotional article, but factual, objective and much more structured and with better citations than before (still working on getting full citations for the CEO / Board member list).

Wittlock (talk) 08:22, 17 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Moved my re-write proposal back to my Sandbox, since I got a decline on the Draft article due to the article already existing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Wittlock/sandbox Wittlock (talk) 09:11, 17 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

References

@Wittlock: I'd like to help you, but the sources are problematic. Anything that is controlled by a company such as their web site or press release is considered a primary source, and is therefore not reliable. See WP:RS. This can be problematic, but the idea is that if the info doesn't appear anywhere else except where the company writes about it, it's not notable. Company financial reports, such as the 10-K in the US, get a pass, since they are theoretically reviewed by an outside auditor. Sometimes the number and locations of offices can be sourced to a company locations info page on their website, since that's generally not controversial. If you can change the sourcing to eliminate Alfa Laval sources like their web site and press releases, and the sites of their partners, you'll have a better chance of this being reviewed and implemented. Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made.  TimTempleton (talk) (cont) 00:24, 4 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have closed this edit request, per above. Z1720 (talk) 16:03, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
