Is it really Duchenne?[edit]

I read that Duchenne muscular dystrophy appears early in life and almost always leaves the person unable to walk by 12. How could it be that his parents didn't even notice that he had a health problem until he was out of high school? Could it just be that it was some other form of dystrophy?
