AlgarAlgar, Cádiz – Several places and persons [1] named Algar. E.g. alone at geonames there are 2x Spain, 1x Canada, 1x Portugal, 1x Pakistan and two lakes. Additionally there is a place in India Algar, Uttara Kannada. Algar should be a dab. Bogdan Nagachop (talk) 19:51, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose per WP:TWODABS. At least for now, this a solution looking for a problem. I'll put a hatnote for Algar, Uttara Kannada on the article now. —  AjaxSmack  22:30, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment you could always point it to the Indian location. 65.93.15.213 (talk) 04:38, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment the user misunderstood TWODABS: " if an ambiguous term is considered to have no primary topic, then that term should lead to a disambiguation page." There is no primary topic here. Furthermore, it is already a problem, since some links go to Algar which are not meant to go to the city. If it would point to a dab, then the dab team can find this. Bogdan Nagachop (talk) 14:36, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
      • I agree. Now that there's a dab page and it has a few entries, point Algar there. Support the move. —  AjaxSmack  02:50, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Or move Algar (disambiguation) (which now has 14 alternatives) to Algar? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 08:44, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Of course. And if links go to the dab page, then software can detect this and people can fix the links. But if they go to a wrong article, then there is currently no software to detect this. Bogdan Nagachop (talk) 14:36, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
      • I agree but remember Wikipedia is for the convenience of readers not software. —  AjaxSmack  02:50, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
        • Ok, great. I agree it is for readers. My idea is that the software will help it make better for readers. Software helps us to check and control the content. Bogdan Nagachop (talk) 02:31, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
