Employment History[edit]

A search on UCLA website does not return any results indicating Mr. Javadi's current employment there. Also, I have had a hard time finding any trace of his scholarly work besides his political activism. Can anyone shine a little bit of light here? More precisely, his last name does not return any entries and if you search reasonably related fields (math, applied math, stat) you do not see his last name or his very well known picture among faculty members. --Mrjahan

Since there is no evidence to show that Mr. Javadi actually holds a PhD or any indication that he teaches at UCLA, I dropped those lines. --mrjahan Nov. 5th 2006, 5:00 PM (AST)

As wikipedia policy on Living Person's Biography says:

Information supplied by the subject may be added to the article if:

  • It meets verifiability, NPOV, and no original research policies.
  • It is relevant to the person's notability;
  • It is not contentious;
  • It is not unduly self-serving;
  • There is no reasonable doubt that it was provided by the subject.

and in this case they are not verifiable (because he usses nickname instead). So lots of information of this article should be removed. Hessam 17:29, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is beyond use of pseudonyms and such. If he is a professor of applied mathematics (or any related field), you should find his name listed as a professor (UCLA would not and in fact can not hide the name of a faculty member, bu US law). Problem is, there are no Iranian professors in math related departments (math, stat, biostat). What I could find is a lady who is a lecturer in UCLA stat department. So, this claim has a stench of a lie around it. My conclusion is that it is another typical communist self-promotion stunt to fool unaware and less savvy Iranian readers. This guy may have a PhD from somewhere, but he is no UCLA professor and he is no scholar. Shame on the writer. mrjahan Nov 25, 2006
