Added Africa Project tag[edit]

Hi, I added the Africa Project tag and started low with start class. It's obviously not a stub.Gallador 01:44, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Swahili people[edit]

He was 100% Swahili, that is what Swahili people means, people like Marzrui. Although he has roots in Yemen or Oman he in numerous interviews and publication is refereed to as Swahili. Just like he is Muslim, I take it for granted everyone knows he is Swahili. He talked a great deal about this in a few of his books, as well as in his confrontations with that polemic in Nigeria called Wole.--Inayity (talk) 14:03, 19 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ali Mazrui was also black African and identified himself that way although he also acknowledged his Arab ancestry. He said whenever he visited his Arab relatives, they always identified him as their black African relative. He stated that in his debate with Wole Soyinka in which Soyinka implied Mazrui was not really African because he was not "black". The Mazrui family which ruled Mombasa during precolonial times had roots in Oman. They established the Mazrui dynasty.--Dave1959 (talk)
