Notes on expansion[edit]

Although I have sourced every statement I've made in expanding this, the new version of his bio seems too good to be true & to contain some possible contradictions. Whew! This fellow's life gets stranger the more I look at it. I notice the above doesn't mention the Almeric Paget Massage Corps or the Cambs Suffolks; since having an entire military corps named after you is something that really ought to be noted, I'm starting to think that maybe there were two Almeric Pagets after all, unlikely as it may be — iridescent (talk to me!) 01:18, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've tried to find another Almeric Paget for you but it doesn't look as if there was anyone else. If the room at 55 Portland Place was loaned out to Almeric by Lady Alexander Paget, then she would have been Almeric's cousin's wife, the former Hon. Hester Stapleton-Cotton. The house belonged to Henrietta Sneyd when she died in 1913 (a year before the loan) and she was the second cousin of Hester's husband, Lord Alexander (himself the second husband of Almeric). My guess is that the house passed to Lady Alexander (Lord Alexander having died in 1896) and it was then rented out to Almeric. I've made a snippet of the family tree if it helps (remember this is purely guess work though):

I'm guessing the main problem with linking the APMC to Queenborough is that the links to the information about the APMC simply refer to "Mr and Mrs Paget" but don't go on to mention anything about his other careers or if it is the same bloke descended from Anglesey. I think it's safe to say you've got the right person though and that they're one and the same.

Interestingly enough, it seems 55 Portland Place held the original Room 101 which might be worth mentioning. Anyway, it's far too late/too early for me to think any further about it and my head's hurting now lol. Good luck with the article though! Regards, Craigy (talk) 03:15, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
