Initial page creation[edit]

I wrote this page while researching the larger List of fraternities and sororities at the University of Minnesota. --This society being formed out of an organization that had begun in Minnesota.

At the time I'd reviewed a number of schools that had formerly had chapters, but none appeared to be active. An un-cited reference suggested that the only surviving chapter was the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, which had activity into 2017. Yesterday I expanded the page to list the existing chapters as of the 19th edition of Baird's. Considering the same problem, whether dormant or not, I wrote to the chapter advisor of record for this 'last' chapter to inquire about their status on 31 Aug 2020 and await a response.

My sense is, organizations like this are not difficult to run. Day-to-day management can be outsourced through the PFA or various association management consultants, including such functions as publication of a website or newsletter, or coordination of an annual conference. They fail when a devoted leader hangs on too long or too tightly, without duplicating his/her successors and when elderly, does not wrap up the affairs of the association in a tidy 'box' so that someone else can pick up management. In the case of Alpha Delta Theta medical fraternity, there is no apparent national website, no office, and there is an obvious lack of searchable documents or photos from previous eras. I couldn't find a copy of their magazine, not even a JPG of a pin or a crest. I assume a once-caring leader died with no succession planning... Jax MN (talk) 15:43, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dormant?[edit]

Does this society still have an active chapter? A note found via a Google search, previously hinted, said that the chapter at the University of the Sciences chapter was the sole remaining active group, as of ~2017. Jax MN (talk) 16:56, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Jax MN Both the group's instagram page and facebook page have activity through 2019. I'm not willing to make a call that they don't exist.Naraht (talk) 21:05, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Pin identification?[edit]

A Google search brings up a pin for a group called Alpha Delta Theta, with the symbol of a pyramid at the center. I don't believe it was ever used for Alpha Delta Theta (professional), nor for Alpha Delta Theta (social) for that matter. Does anyone have an idea which group it belongs to? Perhaps a local fraternity or sorority. Here's the image, accessed 27 February 2022. Jax MN (talk) 21:27, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
