Both the Idioms in American Sign Language and Profanity in American Sign Language pages are more thin lists than full articles. I'd suggest bringing both under this parent article in a section or sections noting any particulars of these components within ASL. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Squalk25 (talkcontribs) 23:54, 5 December 2015 (UTC)

Suggestions/feedbacks

I suggest you to add some things into this article. This article needed to add some of resources such as deaf schools in each states, deaf organizations where hearing parents can find. Often hearing parents would curious about American Sign Language, if parents increased motivation to learn American Sign Language, it would be nice if this page has resources to lead them to next step. American Sign Language is umbrella of deaf world, again, would be nice to add several of resources and links about our deaf community. Last suggest add some of American Sign Language Literature into this page.

I have a question, for varieties section why do this page compare with Canada sign language? I know many of signs that are in America and it has varieties based on regionals, for example, "SOON" has varieties sign in America. Another question, why would this page mention "stigma", I feel like it is negative and too many resources out-there on this topic, maybe, change it to benefit of use ASL or deaf gain, more positive direction of American Sign Language.

A good page though!

Thank you!

It should be noted that Wikipedia is not a guidebook so this article isn't really intended to be a parent's guide so much as an encyclopedic article focusing on the topic from a neutral point of view, and in addition, some of the topics suggested for addition should probably be covered in other articles. The page appears to merely give due weight to stigma based on reliable published sources that discuss it. Not paying credence to all notable positions on the topic (for instance, by removing a reliably sourced section on a topic because you simply disagree with its stance) would be a WP:POV edit. - Purplewowies (talk) 02:54, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

Names for people and places

Not sure where else to put this, but—shouldn’t there be more mentions of sign names for people and places in some way? I mean, there are plenty of interesting stories behind them, and the local names of places (including in their original language, and occasionally even more than that) are normally provided along with an etymological explanation. שונרא (talk) 00:08, 16 April 2019 (UTC)

Media Suggested Improvements

The article includes helpful and relevant images and videos that enhance the understanding of sign language. The image captions are concise but through. I believe that all the images adhere to Wikipedia's copyright regulations. The only constructive criticism that I have on the media is that the images are almost all inserted on the right side of the page and I think it would be nice to have some images incorporated in between the paragraphs on the left or the center of the page to break up the load of written information.
