Some thoughts on this article[edit]

I think it's great that someone started this article, but it needs serious expansion, rewriting and sources. Firstly, to compare André Brink with Wilbur Smith is like comparing Nadine Gordimer to Stephanie Meyer. Brink is an achieved author who has won many literary awards for his writing (both in South Africa and internationally), and he forms part of canonized South African literature. The same cannot be said about Smith, who, although he does a lot of research for his books, writes popular fiction. This is either way not something one can just say because a scene in Brink's book reminds of a scene in Smith's book.

I therefore think the article should either be expanded as soon as possible (if possible, since finding sources on these kinds of books are hard), or should be shortened. Rather that than it being some silly personal impression. Johannes Jaar (talk) 11:21, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
