I am not connected to this artist, nor do I ever expect to be. I have a declared paid account, editing in the mainspace would be an apparent conflict of interest. The rest of the article appears to be properly cited. Thank you. Apriltools (talk) 03:42, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done Banners and citation needed tags are removed when the issue has been resolved. Thank you for providing some sources, but I am unsure of where AllMusic is supposed to be placed in the article, and I was unable to find an editorial policy or about us page that established who runs UK Music Reviews. Also, there are other placed in the article that require citations, especially because this is a biography of a living person. I invite the requester to open a new edit request below when other sources are found. Z1720 (talk) 01:36, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Z1720: Thanks for answering my edit request. As for the stale (2016) banner, the article had 13 references at the end of 2016, the article currently has 42 references. IMHO, the banner in the lead section has been more than adequately answered. The inline "citation needed" in the Career section and the section banner in the Honours section more succinctly show the remaining problems at their location. Besides that, the user that posted the lead banner, did not initiate a discussion on this talk page, as per item number 4 on WP:WTRMT, at this point we can only guess what the editor's objections were at the time.
I suggest we remove the claims where the inline "citation needed" templates are placed and leave the Honours section as is until a better reference can be located. The AllMusic bio reference should be at the end of the first sentence. Sorry it took so long to answer this and thanks again! Apriltools (talk) 07:55, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Apriltools: For the banners, I would not feel comfortable removing them until there is adequate sourcing throughout the article, which would involve a citation at the end of every paragraph (minimum) verifying the information that precedes it, citations for the Honours section to verify these awards, and citations for each entry in the albums section to verify this information. I am a bit more strict about this because this is a BLP and thus has higher levels of scrutiny. Z1720 (talk) 22:36, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Z1720: Okay, I've redone the edit requests. Let's add the references, remove the cruft and see what we have left to do. Apriltools (talk) 22:28, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Lead sentence[edit]

  • Specific text to be added or removed: Lead section, end of first sentence, add AllMusic Bio as reference to support Johann Strauss Orchestra claim (and others)
  • Reason for the change: eventual removal of (very stale) references needed maintenance tag
  • References supporting change: [1]

Apriltools (talk) 22:22, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The lede does not need references. I will add a ref in the body for this statement. I am marking this as addressed unless there is something else you would specifically like to cite to this reference. SpencerT•C 02:20, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Career section[edit]

  • Specific text to be added or removed: Remove unsupported and unneeded claims in Career section
During the first half of 2009, Rieu was the world's most successful male touring artist, according to Billboard magazine.[citation needed]
Rieu records both DVD and CD repertoire at his own studios in Maastricht in a wide range of classical, popular, and folk music, as well as thematic music from well-known soundtracks and musical theatre.
In addition to two World Music Awards,[citation needed] Rieu's recordings have gone gold and platinum in many countries, including 8-times Platinum in the Netherlands.[citation needed]
  • Reason for the change: eventual removal of (very stale) references needed maintenance tag
  • References supporting change: NA

Honours section[edit]

  • Specific text to be added or removed: Honours section, add reference
  • Reason for the change: eventual removal of "references needed" maintenance tag
  • References supporting change: [1]
NoteThis reference is independent of the artist and the claim is made in the author's words. The source domain (ukmusicreviews.co.uk) is listed on Google News, however, the website does not have an "editorial policy" posted. Please add the reference as it supports the claim(s). The section maintenance banner ("needs additional citations") can be retained to indicate we are looking for a better reference.
