Tone[edit]

It appears that this article takes the wrong tone for an encyclopaedic article, may violate NPV, contains virtually innumerable grammatical errors, may contain too much information for an article on any baseballer who hasn't been inducted to the Hall of Fame, and represents pronunciation by comparison to English syllabic construct rather than proper use of the IPA in the initial pronunciation information on the subject's name. I'm a Galarraga fan - I have an autographed ball - but I agree this entry is too long and violates NPV. Mickey Mantle's entry isn't this detailed. I'll work on it as my next project. ddlamb 03:43, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I've dramatically shortened this article and reformatted several of the 'highlights' into internal links in the article itself. I've left the pronunciation issue alone because... well, because I don't really know what the problem is. If someone else does, jump in. Please leave feedback and I'll watch the page for a while. ddlamb 04:52, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

MK[edit]

Gallaraga's .370 was NOT the highest batting average of a Hispanic American player. Ted Williams' mother was Mexican and he hit .406 in 1941. Rod Carew is Panamanian and he hit .388 in 1977. Changing entry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.219.180.79 (talk) 18:33, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
