I added his death in India to the lead graph. I belongs there. Simple evidence of import is that there was no article on Liveras until he was killed in India. This is the same as the first graph note of death in India of Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg.

His dual citizenship is also of note since articles on the Mumbai victims not prominently the victims' various nationalities and the international affect of the attack.72.75.11.5 (talk) 16:38, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

No. Please consult every obit bio of this person. Also every victim would not be included. Please either do this same edit on the newly created [Gavriel Holtzberg] page and see what reaction you get. The most noteworthy aspect of Mister Liveras, sad as it may be, is that he was murdered in these attacks.72.75.11.5 (talk) 17:07, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

This article wasn't made because he died in the terrorist attack, Incorrect. That is exactly why it was made. The aggregate of three facters: a) murdered in spectacular terrorist attack, b) Foreigner in India, and c) Wealthy -- aggregate to making him noteworthy.

Actually that discussion proves my point it centers on his means of death. It was created along with his page because of his death. His death made him noteworthy. That is a no brainer. That you would keep removing the notice of it from the lead here when no serious source of information would do so is perplexing and nothing short of strange.

Actually 3 different editors removed it. No, it states just because it didn't exist before he died doesn't mean it shouldn't have. Gavriel Noach Holtzberg isn't the style guide example of Wikipedia, just because it's mentioned there, doesn't mean it's necessary on all other similar articles. I don't care anymore, do what you want, he's a complete irrelevance to me and is a just a minor article, so will have no real impact on Wikipedia. Tatarian (talk) 17:31, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Although his death was a big issue, it does a disservice to him and the encyclopedia to turn his article into a mere chronicle of the murder. He had a long career and built several large companies that had a significant impact in the specialized world of pastries and luxury yacht charters. His life also adds to the discussion of immigration and self-made millionaires. In general it is more informative for Wikipedia to be an encyclopedia of what people do when alive than how they died.Wikidemon (talk) 18:31, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Why delete?

Is there any good reason to delete this article? Perhaps it should be left up for a few months, and then reconsidered. Right now, it's not hurting anything.

It's not going to be deleted, if you look at the afd discussion, it's pretty unanimous in favour of keeping the article. Tatarian (talk) 17:19, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Of course it won't be deleted. Mr. Liveras, as a foreign victim and specifed "British" target got lots of press notice, and will be a notable person due to the unfortunate and newsworthy manner of his death.72.75.11.5 (talk) 17:26, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

This should not be deleted. He should have been on wikipedia before his death anyway, it's sad he had to die to get on wikipedia! He saved Newark from economic disaster in the 80's by creating 1000's of job at his factory and then started many other successful companies, most famous one being Liveras Yachts, who are owners, builders and charterer's of the largest yachts in the industry!! I agree with the above comment, and he was famous before he died, he was very famous in the yachting industry and very well respected, he was the next Onassis, the Onassis of the yachting world. He was also very famous in Monaco where this industry thrives. I agree he should have been on Wikipedia before his death anyhow. A self made man, how many of you opposing him being on wikipedia are self made billionaires like him? Also will it really make a difference to your lives if it is left up? No. But it will make a difference to those who knew him, loved him and respected him and he should go down in history.
