Fair use rationale for Image:Angelband.jpg[edit]

Image:Angelband.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:31, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 18 August 2020[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: Moved to Angel (American band), following deletion by prod of Angel (rock band). Will add a hatnote pointing to Criss Angel. No such user (talk) 11:20, 9 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Angel (band)Angel (1970s American band) – There are 4 bands named "Angel", the above 2 and Angel (British band) and Angel (Swedish band), so the above is incomplete disambiguation. The two American bands are also both rock bands which makes that incomplete disambiguation as well. So options #1 and #2 from WP:BANDDAB are not possible. Angel (band) and Angel (British band) both were active in the 1970s, while Angel (rock band) and Angel (Swedish band) both were active in the 1990s, which makes option #3 also not possible. This leaves only the last option. If there are better ones, I'm open to suggestions. Note: Angel (rock band) has been deleted, so its entry to be renamed Angel (1990s American band) has been removed from this request. P.I. Ellsworth  ed. put'r there 01:08, 9 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Relisting comment: Rename by decade, or rename by location?
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Steel1943 (talk) 06:49, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • For the record I have no preference if both are supported by the guideline. --Gonnym (talk) 07:48, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom.--Ortizesp (talk) 15:44, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • I disagree with the entire scheme. The second band should be merged into Criss Angel, and the first should be moved to Angel (American band) with a hatnote. Between the two American bands, the much longer lasting and more productive band formed in the 1970s is the clear primary topic of the two. BD2412 T 01:15, 23 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Angel (American band) per BD2412 in order to close this. Leave Angel (rock band) alone for now.
I concur that Angel (rock band) material should just be covered at Criss Angel . That band is not independently notable from Criss Angel, and fails all 12 of the criteria in WP:NBAND. I typically prefer a merge WP:ATD-M alternative to deletion, but all of the content in the current article isn't even verifiable with the one source provided. (He doesn't even acknowledge this iteration of a band in interviews where prior bands come up.) Even if merged, the leftover redirect would have WP:X or Y problems and should go to the dab page. I will be WP:PRODing it since the little bit of information I can find doesn't even need to be attributed to the current article, and I'll add a brief mention to his #Music section with this ref, which is about all there is out there. The silver lining of my search: the video was worth a chuckle.
Courtesy pings to participants @Gonnym, Netoholic, Andrewa, Crouch, Swale, In ictu oculi, Kennethaw88, and Ortizesp: in case anyone feels strong enough to deprod. -2pou (talk) 18:21, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • If the end result is only one article then (American Band) can be ok, but I completely oppose a "primary topic" for not one, but two word dabs ("American band"). At a certain point claiming "primary" is just laughable. So I'd rather have the pages move to the proposed titles or the alternative suggestion, then if your prod sticks, the page can be moved again. --Gonnym (talk) 18:29, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes if the other one gets deleted we can leave this one as is. Though the title Angel (rock band) should redirect to this one if we don't keep that topic. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:31, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Or redirect to the DAB per below if the other 2 are rock bands, if no one contests the PROD I'll turn that title into a redirect to the DAB. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:44, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Looking over this again, if the other article is kept, I would prefer Angel (Washington, D.C. band) and Angel (New York band), since the British and Swedish bands were also in the 1970s and 1990s. kennethaw88talk 18:40, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Let's put a hold on this discussion until the PROD is resolved, as that would be the easiest path to eliminating the dispute. BD2412 T 18:45, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Not necessary - this RM has been open far too long already. Using the city disambiguation is a great solution and if the other article is deleted, the city titles can be retained as redirects. In fact, converting the Criss Angel band into a redirect without deletion might also be a good result if the PROD isn't objected to. -- Netoholic @ 12:13, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The discussion above is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

P.S. since this move should also involve retargeting of Angel (band) to the dab page, I asked for help redirecting some 150 incoming links at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Disambiguation#Angel_(band). Or whoever feels like lending a hand. Thank you. No such user (talk) 11:52, 9 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
