School Mascots

I'm pretty sure that the elementary schools in Ankeny DO NOT have mascots. If they do, this is news to me in the 19 years I have lived here, I have noticed that this page has been subject of a lot of spamming so this may be where they all came from. I am going to take down the mascots for the elementary schools unless the reference can be provided. My reference that they do not have mascots is simply my friends & I -- thus being personal experience. I'm open to response as always. :-) -- Jayson 'Ace' Frye (talk) 01:28, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

PS: I will also note that the elementary schools, "if claimed to have a mascot" then they will claim the citywide mascot "Hawks/Hawkettes". -- Jayson 'Ace' Frye (talk) 01:37, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Resident Income

It was noted on 2/22/10 that the household income was over $200,000 and the average income for males were close to $150,000. A look at the American Community Survey from 2008 shows a figure closer to $95,000 for household income so I am not sure where the higher number came from - perhaps one industry only? In any event, the larger numbers were clearly a mistake and numbers of that range would put easily put Ankeny in the top 5 highest-earning cities in the country - certainly not close to being accurate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Paiste13 (talkcontribs) 20:26, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Population counts

@TylerKutschbach: would you please stop reverting the latest certified population counts from the US Census Bureau. There are no policies or requirements in template data structures to enforce the 2010 census as the only standard for US city population data. The only place that says that is the guideline essay from WikiProject Cities/US Cities. The population metric should reflect the latest certified population counts from the US Census, be it the decennial or special census, period. Anything else would be utilizing outdated data, which is not the best for the purposes of this website. Gwen Hope (talk) (contrib) 22:54, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
