Place of Birth[edit]

Ancestry.com records by a member of her family record her place of birth in Tennille, Washington County, Georgia. She was, however, bought up in Florida. Maybe the person who placed her birth in Orlando could reference the source. Dorkinglad (talk) 10:44, 23 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That change was made anonymously back in 2014. Her Findagrave page (yes, I know it's not a WP:RS) says she was born in Sandersville, Georgia, in Washington County - as does her US Social Security detail (SSN: 267987747). So, it's almost certainly true. Ghmyrtle (talk) 17:38, 23 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I’ve been writing some sleeve notes for an Annette Snell release in the Spring. Tennille, Ga is just three miles from the main area town Sandersville, Ga. According to the relative I’ve been in touch with her family who left for Miami because of the racism in the area and the lynching of a civil rights leader whilst Annette was very young. I hope all is well with you. Greg Dorkinglad (talk) 23:37, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just done a brief check of birth details accessing social security records and birth registrations for Snell and her immediate family. She was registered with the name Annetta but by the look of subsequent records preferred Annette. Birth was recorded as Sandersville rural. This is strong evidence that you are right about the place of birth. Desperately sad ending for the poor woman. Her body was obliterated in the fire that happened when the plane crash landed. Good luck with the liner notes - they will then become an WP:RS! Ghmyrtle (talk) 10:03, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As Ms Snell is on my mind at the moment I'm noticing inconsistencies in various articles. I'm not sure if you are the originator of this entry but there is a glaring error 'Promises should never be broken' was released in 1977. It's the b-side to 'It's all over' on Epic 8-50464. They were two of seven tracks cut for a forthcoming album. Her death curtailed that. The company I'm working with has licensed three canned tracks for a 45 release in March.
I remain very impressed with your contributions. Well done . Dorkinglad (talk) 16:03, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I created the article almost 10 years ago, so I'm glad that it's been of some value. Please correct any mistakes. Ghmyrtle (talk) 19:19, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
