"In May 1810, the May Revolution where Argentina declared its independence from Spain" That part is incorrect.
Argentina declared its independence in July 1816. At that moment where fighting against Spaniard empire but also against the crown of Portugal that was in Brazil.
In 1810 was the May Revolution, the first patriot government (Primera Junta) beginning of a continental war of independence.
