Any similarities between Armenia, Colombia and Armenia, repoblique of armenia.[edit]

I'm an Armenian from Colombia. What I heard from my grandparents is that Armenia was named after the ancient, Christian country because of an earthquake that happened there during the colonization of Colombia. What's more Ironic is that Armenia itself passed through an earthquake that almost destroyed central Armenia and it's southern parts back on January 25, 1999. It had registered 6.9 on the Richter scale, killed around a thousand people and made thousands more homeless. As of 2005, some parts of Armenia are still feeling the effects of that earthquake and some families are still living in 'temporary' housing.

The earthquake happened where? In Colombia? Someone who is from Columbia said that the name comes from the Bible. The word Armenia appears 2 times in the Bible. I am culturally armenian. I don't mean the city called Armenia located in Colombia. The republic of Armenia was also hit by an earthquake on December 07, 1988. It effected the northern region and 25,000 died, up to 130,000 injured. There is also a Lebanon in the USA. Strange. Vmelkon (talk) 02:40, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It is probably biblical, considering there is a department to the north named Antioch (Antioquia), another biblical location which is near Armenia.

Flag Link[edit]

The link for the flag on this article is for the Republic of Armenia. I would fix this myself, but strangely the Flag Link field in the infobox already doesn't exist, and if I add it without any value in source then the link remains regardless. Someone who knows more about infoboxes please fix. Gawgitta (talk) 23:35, 23 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
