Sokolof[edit]
It is abundantly clear from reliable secondary sources and from all official records (birth records, census, marriage records, etc.) that his name at birth was Arnold Shukotoff. However, the Arnold Shaw Center here gives his birth surname as Sokolof. This is quite odd - they have his papers, so you would expect them to know his name. Or, is there another explanation?
