Disambig not needed[edit]

I think either the TV series or the Hip-hop crew should be on this page, and without the disambiguition page. We can make do without it since after all, there are no more notable things/shows/groups with the name "Arrested Development", right? --Andylkl (talk) (contrib) 14:37, 25 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Smart man. -Silence 01:04, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is which one would we choose. Depending on your tastes and generation, either could be considered the likely choice. And the hip hop group did come first... Tfine80 06:22, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
True, but the TV show's wiki is higher when you google Arrested development. --Zagsa 00:04, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This issue was decided only days ago at Talk:Arrested Development (TV series)#Requested Move. Also, the deciding factor in determing if an article should be made a primary topic is whether it is significantly more prominent than other uses. While the TV show is slightly more prominent, the hip hop group is not far behind.  Anþony  talk  02:38, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Whoops, guess I should've checked the timestamps...  Anþony  talk  03:25, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Definition[edit]

While I understand that Wikipedia is not a dictionary but an encyclopedia I was actually looking for the meaning of the expression (as English is a second language for me) only to find it removed from this page a day or two ago. I don't think that one sentence is very much in the way of things so I'm restoring it for the benefit of those following in my footsteps. --Cyhawk 01:10, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have transwikied the definition to wikt:arrested development and added a Wiktionary template to the page.  Anþony  talk  09:06, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This page should be a redirect to Arrested development (small d), not the other way around. The previous disambig page, giving the meaning of "arrested development" in the general sense and then redirecting to the two proper noun pages, was better. -Switch t 10:54, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is not a dictionary. Per Wikipedia's Manual of Style, dictionary definitions should not be included in disambiguation pages. The standard practice, also suggested in the Manual of Style, is to include a link to Wikipedia's sister project, Wiktionary. If you think another method would be more appropriate, feel free to suggest it at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages).  Anþony  talk  11:06, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Here the definition is not of a word, however, but of a psychological term and theory. Indeed, the article should be expanded to provide more than the simple definition, providing information on the development of the theory, symptoms, etc. It is preposterous to make this page solely about the TV show and the band while ignoring the very term from which they draw their names. Laszlo Panaflex 17:49, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
How about starting another article at Arrested development (psychology) concerning that usage and retain this article as a disambig? --TM 20:03, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Looking for help writing an article about the spin-offs and crossovers of this series[edit]

I am writing an article about all of the series which are in the same shared reality as this one through spin-offs and crossovers. I could use a little help expanding the article since it is currently extremely dense and a bit jumbled with some sentence structures being extremely repetitive. I would like to be able to put this article into article space soon. Any and all help in writing the article would be appreciated, even a comment or two on the talk page would help. Please give it a read through, also please do not comment here since I do not have all of the series on my watch list. - LA @ 16:09, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
