Image Deletion[edit]

I reverted the edits made by User:JJMC89. I believe the images meets the guidelines set out by WP:NFCC. More significantly this appears to be another instance of same issue of various editors wanting to erase certain parts of this show's history. Before the image is removed again there needs to be discussion on this page on whether it should be removed or not. Web Warlock (talk) 18:18, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Webwarlock:. What you need to do if you feel that the non-free use of this file is justified in this article is to provide a valid non-free use rationale for it per WP:NFCC#10c and WP:NFCCE. Each use of a non-free file requires a separate specific non-free use rationale which explains how the use satisfies all ten non-free content use criteria. As long as this file is missing such a rationale, it will continue to be removed by bots or human editors reviewing non-free content use per WP:NFC#Implemetation. Moreover, if you keep re-adding the file without providing the missing rationale, you're likely going to be considered to be edit warring which most likely not lead the image being added to the article, but which might possibly lead to your account being blocked by an administrator. Just providing a rationale doesn't automatically make the a particular non-free use policy compliant, but it will stop bots from removing the file. At that point, the file's use in the article can still be challenged by any editor who disagrees with the rationale, but there will at least be something to discuss. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:09, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Worth noting that User:JJMC89 deleted the rationale that was there. It could use some improvement and expansion as it relates to this article, which, as you say, would benefit from discussion.--Trystan (talk) 14:44, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Updated the image file details to link to both articles. Researching more on what needs to be done. Web Warlock (talk) 19:37, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Webwarlock: It would be better for you to be as specific as possible in the rationales you provide instead of just copying (or copying and pasting) what’s in a previously added rationale. Not all non-free uses are identical per WP:OTHERIMAGE and thus clearly trying explain how a non-free use meets each of WP:NFCCP can be helpful. Most of the rationale templates have boilerplate text added for reference purposes and sometimes this works OK; however, for multiple uses of the same file, it’s often better to provide more specific information (even at the risk of some redundancy) than simply “as above” or “n.a.” types of justifications. If you feel the particular use meets all ten non-free content use criteria, you should be able to express or at least summarize why in the rationale. — Marchjuly (talk) 22:39, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I am still trying to figure this out and got slammed in Real World work while trying to do this. Web Warlock (talk) 14:01, 7 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:The Legend of Korra S04E12 - Asami and Korra holding hands.jpg[edit]

File:The Legend of Korra S04E12 - Asami and Korra holding hands.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a non-free use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Semi-protected edit request on 14 March 2021[edit]

The first sentence under Design reads: Asami's initial character design, from when she was meant to be an Equalist spy, was changed after co-creators DiMartino and Konietzko rewrote her to be an ally instead.

The words "was changed" should be replaced with "was left unchanged". Per the source cited: "Asami’s character design was left unchanged, along with the first half of her plot beats throughout the course of Book 1." 2601:18F:900:72B0:84B0:E353:BDE1:6BAB (talk) 05:11, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
