Should be merged with the JLS Article.[edit]

Even is Aston is the front singer for JLS, it should be merged within the main JLS article. Mainly because it's unfair to have an article on him and not the others. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.163.158.161 (talk) 20:57, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He is more notable than his other band members because he played the part of Cookie in the Fun Song Factory. He was also placed in the music competition, Stars In Their Eyes. Pyrrhus16 (talk) 09:48, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm wondering if this article should be merged as well. On the JLS article, I would think it would be more than sufficient for there to be separate descriptions of the members, as there is very little information here that requires a stand alone article. He has done more than the others though, so I'm not sure I really have a massively strong opinion either way at this point, certainly not enough to get further involved in a deletion/keep/merge debate. Sky83 (talk) 14:38, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
i say merge. why is he more important than the other members?! how can the fun song factory make him more notable? i've never heard of it. and one appearance as a kid on stars in their eyes, is also not notable. can you remember everyone who has been on that programme? it's bad enough trying to remember the winners, without trying to remember the losers!! i'm guessing this page was started my a lovestruck fan?? lol!! MERGE MERGE MERGE!!! 77.97.110.57 (talk) 22:24, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This should not be merged. The subject passes WP:MUSIC and WP:BIO as he holds notability outside of JLS; he acted in the TV series Fun Song Factory, was placed in Stars in Their Eyes and appears in a duet on Cheryl Cole's album 3 Words. GaGaOohLaLa (talk) 11:02, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request[edit]

{{editsemiprotected}} Aston Ian Merrygold, not James! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Becca*aston (talkcontribs) 20:12, 17 December 2009

Done Well, sort of. Welcome and thanks for contributing. None of the current sources give a middle name, so I removed 'James', but you need to provide some source for 'Ian' if we are to add that. Cheers, Celestra (talk) 21:27, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

His middle name isn't spelt 'Ian' but it's spelt 'Iain'. He said this on the website. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NafzyyJLS (talkcontribs) 20:29, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request from Laurence727, 4 April 2010[edit]

{{editsemiprotected}} Aston is mixed race, the article previously referred to him as mixed race, rather than black, this is not racism, it is simply stating his true ethnic background, I am sure he would not approve of false information about him on the internet

Laurence727 (talk) 20:55, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Please provide a reliable source that supports this and the exact text you would like to change. Thanks, Celestra (talk) 22:34, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: You'll need to upload the picture using the 'upload file' link on the left side of the page, explaining the source of the picture and how this use of the picture qualifies as fair use. Once you have done that, you can start a new request to add your uploaded picture to the article. Remember to include the location you want the picture added and any sizing or caption in that request. Thanks, Celestra (talk) 17:29, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Smith article says they were friends. Although that was supported with only a Daily Mail source, which I have just removed. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:55, 23 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
