Athassel Abbey/Priory[edit]

Now in ruins and covered with vegetation, the abbey was used later as a parish church. It has a screen wall down the middle [of the nave] which divided Catholic and Protestant services. The church had two belfries on it. Location is Waterford Road just east of Cahir.

Who says this is an archeological site?[edit]

There's nothing in the article that says so. It may be a ruin, it may be a national monument and it may be a protected area. None of these mean that it must also be an archeological site. Where are the archeologists? Where are the trenches? Is there any sign of the Time Team? Propose to delete this category from the article. Laurel Lodged (talk) 21:25, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
