Heat 2[edit]

The times of Wagner (FRG) and the following athletes are wrong. Wagners time, as seen at the official report, (p. 524) was 9:16.0 (9:15.96). Ayachis time was mistakenly cited as Wagners time. All other athletes, starting with Ayachi, have been related to the time of the following athlete (Ayachi with Miuras time, Miura with Herriotts time etc.).
