Clean up of "Railroad Company in 1896"[edit]

I removed the following from this section: "The train had one car for passengers, bags and mail. There were two boxcars, three flatcars for lumber or over-sized objects and six coal cars." It's not clear what train is being described. A railroad with 315 employees certainly ran more than one train at a time, and it's almost unthinkable that every train had the exact same consist. (Kindly spare me examples of specialized short lines that run the exact same consist on every train - they are not a comparable to a Class One in 1896.) 97.102.30.205 (talk) 15:04, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Pop Culture[edit]

It should be mentioned that the Railway was immortalized in the Band's song "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down", in which the narrator, Virgil Kane, recalled that during the Civil War he was a Confedrate who had "worked on the Danville Train, till Stoneman's Calvary came and tore up the tracks again". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.56.173.38 (talk) 20:12, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
