Content on Scrib[edit]

on Feb 5 2021, you removed a block of text citing the content is repeat of https://www.scribd.com/document/367383084/10-bio-attur-krishnapisharody-pdf

Note: the content posted in wikipedia precedes that of scribd. I'm the author of that pdf and it is really strange how this has come to be in scribd. I'm writing a text and wrote the biography and used that contents to give an authoritative biography of AKP. (I'm the great grandson of the personality mentioned here). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayraghavan (talkcontribs) 14:25, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Jayraghavan—Thanks for the clarification. Because your addition to Wikipedia and the date given in the running foot were the same, I assumed that I was seeing a case of plagiarism, and I am glad that was not the case. I do, however, want to note a couple things:
  1. Writing about your own family member is, to some degree, a conflict of interest, so it’s good that you have disclosed it. If you haven’t read the policies covering COI, I advise you to do this.
  2. Much of the content I removed didn’t feel appropriate for an enyclopædia, either due to insufficient in-line citations and/or journalistic in tone. Statements like “This alliance was very propitious” are personal interpretations of circumstances, not the plain recounting that is demanded here.
If you want to continue improving the article, I recommend starting with any properly sourced statements that existed before my edit. You’re welcome to message me with any questions. —jameslucas ▄▄▄ ▄ ▄▄▄ ▄▄▄ ▄ 16:02, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
