I was in the process of expanding this stub. You beat me to it, but what a wonderful job you have done. I knew Audrey for a few years; I had the pleasure of having a desk next to hers, when she was the lead volunteer within the SDP's membership department. "In the 1980s Withers became a political activist for David Owen's SDP." Audrey, as far as I recall, along with the facts stated in her autobiography (Lifespan), was hardly an activist for the SDP. She was the head volunteer in the membership department - alongside her childhood friend Margaret Moffet (whom she solely referred to as "Tuffet"). David Owen's SDP was formed by the Gang of Four in 1985 at which time Audrey switched from the Labour party to the more moderate (in it's time) SDP.
So shall we say "In the 1980s Withers became a volunteer in the membership department of David Owen's SDP"?
That would seem more accurate, though I doubt the other founders of the SDP would like the implication that the party was Owen's possession. So I would suggest that it is mentioned that he was just the leader. I have nothing against him, he was the best human being there.Bloodholds (talk) 22:52, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Audrey, after her marriage to Victor Kennet (and taking his name) always referred to him as "Victor", as the introductory paragraph mentions she took both her husband’s names - using "Kennet" is insufficient and ambiguous (Audrey or Victor?).

I was unclear on this point, I apologise. I would just suggest where you reference Kennet, you say Victor Kennet, Leaving all other references to Audrey as Withers or any combinatin of the two (Audrey and Withers).Bloodholds (talk) 23:10, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
