Tim Wakefield- Augusta 1989[edit]

the article states "... although knuckle baller Tim Wakefield pitched there in 1989 with the Pirates organization."

I lived in Augusta at the time and recall seeing Wakefield as a 3rd Baseman. Most discussions indicate he was primarily a 1st Baseman that year for Augusta. The stats on the following page would support that. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/profile.asp?P=Tim-Wakefield I don't recall him ever having pitched for Augusta. I believe it was immediately after his time in Augusta that he decided his only shot at advancing in baseball was with the knuckleball he'd been messing with and changed from infielder to pitcher. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.47.39.84 (talk) 19:26, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

When Augusta was affilaited w/ Pittsburgh, they were not called the GreenJackets, they took the Pirates name.

Also, Ripken Baseball does own the GreenJackets, but Cal Ripken, Jr. is not the gteam's G.M.
