  • Reviewed: Thuridilla vataae
  • Comment: Any hook can work, this is my fourth nomination to DYK (so I should be exempt regardless) but I want to start getting a hang of reviewing so I'll be looking for an article to approve this evening.
  • Update, I reviewed Thuridilla vataae for QPQ and have updated the "Reviewed" section accordingly.

  • @Ornithoptera: Nominated within a day of being created, and is about 3500 bytes, satisfying date and length criteria. I cannot find evidence of "ninth position on the Greens party list" and "the youngest and most diverse Bundestag cohort ever" in the cited sources. I also cannot find info about "family emigrated to Heidelberg when Tesfaiesus was six" in the cited NYT article (Heidelberg is mentioned in the African Shapers source, but not the age). That NYT article also states "Twenty-five years ago, she faced a momentous life decision: whether to become a German citizen." and later states she obtained it, but does not mention 1997. No copyvio or close paraphrasing detected. Hooks are sufficiently short and cited. QPQ not necessary but completed anyway. So, once the few minor sourcing issues are resolved, this can be promoted. • Hello @Mindmatrix:, thank you for taking the time to review my article for DYK! I had a busy day and was not able to get back to you earlier but I'm able to now so I'll discuss your concerns now. The first part, the "ninth position on the Greens party list" was not added by me, and was added following my nomination to DYK by another user @Erinthecute:, so I think she would probably know what the source is for the following. I also know its listed on Results of the 2021 German federal election#Hesse but the information on the party list is without a source to the best of my knowledge. Secondly, the source for the "youngest and most diverse Bundestag cohort ever" is sourced here though it does not say "ever" explicitly, and was implied to be the most thus far due to the figures listed in the article. The other concerns will be rectified when I am able to this evening! Though 25 years ago from the article's publication would be 1997, so unless I wrote "she received her citizenship 25 years ago" which would go out of date the next year, I'm not really sure how to change the wording there. You are very welcome to edit the page to word things properly though! Thank you again! Ornithoptera (talk) 01:22, 22 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hey Erinthecute! Thank you so much for your help! I really appreciate it! I'll get to addressing the other concerns as soon as I can and it should be set then! Ornithoptera (talk) 02:34, 22 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hello @Mindmatrix:, the requested edits should be done now. If you have any more concerns please do let me know and I can address them as soon as I can. I am not entirely sure on the wording of some of the lines, so please feel free to edit as you see fit. Thank you again for your review of my DYK nomination! • @Ornithoptera: The edits are fine, except I should note that my issue with 1997 was that the NYT article states "Twenty-five years ago, she faced a momentous life decision: whether to become a German citizen." That would put it at 1996 (2021-25=1996). But it then states "She ultimately decided that taking German citizenship would be the best way..." without stating "when" that "ultimately" actually occurred. You could say something like "after contemplating it in 1996, she became...", perhaps with better phrasing. I don't think "was given the choice to become" is correct, though; isn't it a privilege/right granted to all immigrants in Germany? Mindmatrix 16:54, 22 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Mindmatrix: Alright, I think this should hopefully work as an adequate revision "Tesfaiesus eventually was able to become a German citizen, and after contemplating it in 1996, she subsequently accepted the offer" incorporating your suggestions, thank you so much for your help! Regarding the year, this is totally why I never edit math-related articles lol, that was an honest mistake on my end. I hope this can get the DYK approved! • @Ornithoptera: Good to go. I think that "she subsequently accepted the offer" probably still needs tweaking, but that's not a matter for DYK. Mindmatrix 22:02, 22 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
