I think the "is a desert" should be changed as it's not a desert by definition, in terms of precipitation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.194.200.38 (talk) 10:47, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you have any reliable sources as to the precipitation here, please add them. I suspect that you're right and that there's enough precipitation here that this isn't technically a desert, but we need verifiable sources. Thanks. Merenta (talk) 20:33, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone put an IPA description of how "Błędów" is pronounced? -Branddobbe 09:03, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BŁĘDÓW

B - like "b" in "brown"

Ł - like "wh" in "what" or "W" in "Wednesday"

Ę - something like "en" in "end"

D - like "d" in "door"

Ó - like "oo" in "doom"

W - like "ff" in "staff"

"Bwendoof" would be the closest.

The IPA would be something like Polish pronunciation: [[] Audio file "b" not found --217.202.198.115 (talk) 20:57, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The name.[edit]

"Błąd" means "mistake". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.202.99.136 (talk) 17:52, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • It does, and "Pustynia Błędów" could, in direct translation, mean "the desert of mistakes" (still, note the difference to "Pustynia Błąd"). However, the original name is "Pustynia Błędowska", which is not even a conjugation of "mistake". If you have a citation to support an etymological connection to the noun "błąd", feel free to quote it - but otherwise I think it's original research to add this here. Pictures captioned wrong?[edit]

It seems that the before conservation picture and after conservation pictures have reversed the captions? 14.98.244.193 (talk) 19:05, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deserts of Europe Category[edit]

Hi! I've seen that quite a few modifications have been made to the categories of this article - a few users mentioned it should not have the Deserts of Europe Category because it does not meet the geographical criteria to be a desert. I personally think it should be included in the aforementioned category, since there are already articles on it which don't necessarily descrine places which could be technically called deserts e.g. Siedlecka Desert.
