Southend Pier Train shambles.[edit]

Ok Southend Council, the Pier Management Team and The Echo - What the hell is going on? The new pier trains have not functioned properly since delivery in March onwards. Hence the reason for keeping one of the diesel trains still running. This has not recently been bought out of ‘retirement’ as stated by the Echo and Council!!! The reason the Pier had pathetic train availability one day last week is because both NEW electric trains are still not working and, I presume the old diesel train had a fault as well? Instead of any of the three trains working, they had to use the single car unit. I know this as FACT, as I live on Westcliff Parade, and walk my dogs many times a day along the Cliffs. I used to be a massive Pier fan but quite frankly, think it is an absolute embarrassment!

Southend ‘CITY’ council, buck your ideas up! and stop you and the Echo lying about this disgraceful shambles.

I recently suggested that The Railway Magazine did a piece on the new trains, which they kindly did and it was really positive.

I’m sure they would be interested in the true facts, as well as local media.

Who is actually managing this fiasco?:

Maybe give me a call tomorrow. This is an absolute disgrace. The first new carriage was delivered nearly a year ago.

This wouldn’t happen to Blackpool Tower or Brighton’s Palace Pier. It’s an absolute disaster. Since posting this, I have not seen any positive comments about the Pier of it’s managing group?
