overdubs[edit]

if this is a live album why are theyre loads of overdubbs and when would they have been recorded?

Technically, some overdubs would not have been possible for many of the songs with the mobile equipment used at the time. Some simple overdubs were done on some songs. Some extra rythym guitar was added behind solos and some extra harmony was added on one of the versions of "Communication Breakdown". Page claims that the BBC "just wanted the best show possible ... doing an overdub here or there was fair game. At least one overdub, anyway, which was all we ever did." I take this to mean one overdub max per track.
The Paris Theatre track of Whole lotta Love intially ran for over 20 mins and Page used Pro Tools software to cut out "Honey Bee", "Lemon song" and "For what it's worth". page was "able to move things around quite a bit on the medlywithout diturbing the groove. For example, half of one of my solos is edited into the second half of another solo - and you'd never know" Candy 14:12, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Most live album feature overdubs or studio enhancement of some sort (even "The Song Remains The Same").

Top Gear[edit]

This should link to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Gear_%28radio_show%29. How do I do that? It's a disambiguation link. Candy 14:12, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the link. It's done like this: ''[[Top Gear (radio show)|Top Gear]]'' produces the link Top Gear. Graham87 14:01, 3 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deluxe Edition - White Summer[edit]

On the Deluxe Edition the track is just "White Summer" and is 5+ minutes long. The same song from the same session was released years earlier as bonsu tarck to Coda: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coda_(album)#1993.2F2008_compact_disc_editions_.E2.80.93_bonus_tracks But was titled White Summer/Black Mountain Side and was also 8+ minutes. It is obvious that it is the same version (though remastered), so it whould be noted on this page that it's a medley of those two songs, rather than only "White Summer", as this band used to play both of those songs as medley, as can be seen on I's bonus disc with Paris concert. 83.13.239.255 (talk) 12:00, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
