Clean-up

Does anyone want to help make this look as good as the Publix article? Garrepi 05:41, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

Sure, but we'll have to research Bi-Lo's history, back when it was formally known as Red Food.

The changes made to the history of Bi-Lo, include the correction of the year (1961 instead of 1966) and the addition of information about the founder and the company's original incarnation. These corrections were given to me by Russell Streetman, currently the Vice President of Operations for the Southeastern Region. This is based on personal knowledge from his employment with the company since the 1960s and his father's employment at Wrenn and Outlaw (the original store name). HT Streetman worked with the company until his retirement in the late 1980s.Nstreetman 02:39, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Nstreetman 03:46, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Red Food

When was it ever known as Red Food, at least in Upstate SC? I've lived here for 43 years, and have worked as a contractor for Bi-Lo, and never knew that.Kf4mgz 03:42, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

As another Bi-Lo contractor, Red Food had 55 locations in Georgia and Tennessee, not in South Carolina. Alansohn 04:27, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Should the Bi-Lo article have some information about Red Food in it, or should Red Food have its own article? Parrothead1983 22:16, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Red Food's short jingle theme had these words spoken several times: "RED FOOD...Only The Best!". As soon as they changed the name to Bi-Lo, the first jingle theme for it had these words spoken only once: "Bi-Lo. The name fits.". Parrothead1983 01:31, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Split BiLo Foods

BiLo Foods is not related to the BI-LO in this article. Suggest this be split into a new article and a link be added to the BI-LO disambig page. (This article should also then be renamed to "BI-LO (South Carolina)" and the new article be named BiLo Foods, with no hyphen. Clipper471 00:34, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Split and rename per Clipper471. --Garrepi 08:51, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
Keep as is, for now BiLo Foods seems too small to justify its own article. Why not keep it here and expand it with additional sources, and create a split article when justified. Alansohn 14:04, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Support. However, the text state that BiLo Foods "exists as a separate entity as part of the small Friedman's and Riverside Grocery Store chain." If that is accurate, then perhaps an article on that chain should be created, with BiLo Foods as part of it. But I do agree that there is not enough information at present to make a decent article. Given that Bi-Lo has a Hyphen, and BiLo Foods does not, I see no reason whatsoever to move this page at all. Besides, the Bi-Lo I shop at is in the United States, but it's not in South Carolina. Also, seeing that BI-LO (Australia) is being rebranded as Coles, it might make sense to move this page to just plain Bi-Lo, and move what's there to Bi-Lo (disambiguation). (Not proposing that just yet.) - BillCJ 04:02, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Logo BILO.gif

Resolved
 – Fair use rationale provided. —Elipongo (Talk contribs) 15:24, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Image:Logo BILO.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:40, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Super Bi-Lo

The article needs some info about Super Bi-Lo. This is the new direction Bi-Lo is going in and probably every new store will be in this format. you filed chapter 11 which means you will not pay your debts to those that has served you for years. Do you think this is right?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.237.136.133 (talk) 19:42, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Number of Employees

Does someone want to update the number of employees, it is now 70,000 employees after the Delhaize acquisition.
