Fair use rationale for Image:Baby don't cry CD.png[edit]

Image:Baby don't cry CD.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

GA Review[edit]

This review is transcluded from Talk:Baby Don't Cry (Namie Amuro song)/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

Reviewer: Carbrera (talk · contribs) 03:01, 19 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox[edit]

  • You can remove the caption "CD and DVD cover." since it is the only cover in existence as of now

Lead[edit]

Paragraph 1[edit]

  • Comment about the June 19, 2013, release date below...

Paragraph 2[edit]

  • Since the article seems to be written in American English, please change "favourable" to "favorable"
  • Link music critics (I keep forget to mention this in my GA reviews!!); the article to link it to is Music journalism by the way
  • Change first sentence to "Upon its release, the track garnered generally favorable reviews from music critics, who highlighted the song as one of Amuro's best singles, and commended the production and her vocals." please

Background and release[edit]

Paragraph 1[edit]

  • Again, I don't think the mention of the studios where each mix or recording was done is necessary here; it is more mainly needed in the "Credits and personnel" section. I guess the final decision is up to you
  • Use the source for the final statement in this paragraph for my comments regarding the issue in "Release history" please

Paragraph 2[edit]

  • In the first sentence, did you mean "plus shortened versions of the tracks" or "plus one version of the track"? Please reword it so it's more specific
  • Add "various" or "several" before "Japanese television commercials" please
  • The third sentence with the DVD single's artwork doesn't make sense to me; please reword this statement as well

Critical response[edit]

  • The Amazon review: "was" --> "were"
  • "labelling" --> "labeling"

Commercial performance[edit]

Paragraph 1[edit]

  • Please add a topic sentence to to this section stating whether or not the single was commercially successful; thanks
  • "by its first week" --> "in its first week"
  • Shouldn't "top 200" chart be "Top 200" chart? If that's the title, the 't' in 'top' should be capitalized

Paragraph 2[edit]

  • Nothing to say here :)

Live performances and music videos[edit]

Paragraph 1[edit]

  • Great!

Paragraph 2[edit]

  • Add the year/airdates of the "Japanese television drama series, Himitsu no Hanazono." please
  • Nothing else!

Track listings and formats[edit]

  • Looks good!!

Credits and personnel[edit]

  • Fix the disambiguation link to "Minato-ku" please
  • Make the "Recorded" a separate heading, for example, like it is on Edge of the Ocean.

Charts and certifications[edit]

  • Shouldn't the "Japan Yearly Chart (Oricon)" be in a separate format for "Year-end charts"?

Release history[edit]

  • In the lead's first paragraph, you mentioned that it was released worldwide on June 19, 2013 through Avex Entertainment, Inc., but it is not listed here; please add it with reliable sources–thanks

References[edit]

  • In the "iTunes" store references, you list the artist as "Perfume", when it is actually "Namie Amuro"; please switch this (I assume you must have copied and pasted, which is totally fine, just change it accordingly)

Other things[edit]

  • Besides the cover art, this article lacks any images; can you think of any to add that would benefit the article's entirety? Let me know

End of GA Review:[edit]

Another great expansion by CaliforniaDreamsFan! On hold for seven days, good luck! Carbrera (talk) 23:57, 2 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Carbrera: All done and dusted Regarding the release date of June 19, sorry that was another copy and paste error. Regarding the lack of images, this article originally had a music video screenshot but it was suggested to be removed due to a lack of significance according to editors. Regarding the recording studio/mixing/editing part, I decided to leave the studio info because I think its quite vital and its place in several highly ranked articles; I removed the remaining info because it's not that significant to keep. But that's all CaliforniaDreamsFan (talk · contribs} 04:32, 3 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
