Creation of the distirct, 1975[edit]
Would be nice to know which local government county or counties covered the area prior to the creation of two-tier regions in 1975. Laurel Bush 11:16, 15 June 2006 (UTC).
I seem to have answered this one myself. Or I thought I had prior to a recent edit. Terms now used in the article do not agree with those in "Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973", but I do not know whether, or to what extent, the terms used in the latter article agree with those used in the legislation itself. - The original (or older) text of the Act can be seen on the UK Statute Law Database by selecting version 1 in the Attributes box at the bottom of the page. WRT this article it shows that Grantown has been omitted (now added). Also Scottish local government legislation does not have "Unitary Authority"s which is a formal term in English legislation so possibly misleading in this article, the Council Area (linked from this article) article explains that matter.--MBRZ48 (talk) 04:39, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
