Importance[edit]

Mid at best. Started expansion. Bahram is an impossible horse to assess. If you matched him against a seaside donkey, he would probably have won by half a length and been hard ridden to do so: but he might well have done something similar to Frankel, Phar Lap, Secretariat et al... anyway... I seem to remember that he was originally named "Bahman", but that the Aga Khan had to rename him after discovering that there was a horse in training called "Barman".
