Murders of Sorcerers and Islamic clerics in 1998 in Banyuwangi[edit]

A witchhunt against alleged sorcerors happened in 1998, with even mainstream Islamic clerics from Nahdlatul Ulama with no histoty of sorcery getting murdered as the hunt spiraled out of control.

The Javanese transliteration[edit]

The Javanese transliteration of the name of this regency is not necessary. Not in this article and elsewhere. If you want to provide the Javanese transliteration it is best to create a separate page. On top of that the so-called Osing transliteration is not correct anyway, it has been transliterated phonetically. So it's pointless anyway. It is written the same way as in Standard Javanese, but pronounced differently.

BTW it is original research.
