Plagiarism?[edit]

Would the issue of plagiarism merit a rewrite of the article and a placement in the "plagiarism" category? Is Bappi Lahiri a more blatant example of plagiarism than other songwriters? I'm no expert on his work, and I don't doubt that many of his songs are (at least) heavily based on other songs, but I don't know whether this should merit a rewrite, it looks like bias. Music is a media where the lines between plagiarism and inspiration aren't clear-cut, and I think it'd be better to write the facts and let the reader make his own opinion. 惑乱 分からん * \)/ (\ (< \) (2 /) /)/ * (talk) 22:40, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What I mean is, would you put every artist who has ever been accused of plagiarism into the plagiarism category? It seems irrelevant? Also, the section might be original research. Are there any other sources than a private home page? 惑乱 分からん * \)/ (\ (< \) (2 /) /)/ * (talk) 23:31, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The source cited is hardly WP:RS- it is a list compiled by one person by submissions from other users- more like a blog, considering it is a biography, this needs to be removed ASAPtrakesht (talk) 04:18, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article needs urgent cleaning up[edit]

This article contains a lot of unnecessary rubbish "... likes to do the cha cha"??!! Give me a break!

It also contains many peacock words, unverified information and self flagellation which sounds like a fawning fan wrote much of it. The article needs cleaning up to make it more objective - I will start it now, but would appreciate any help in this matter. Thanks. Notthebestusername (talk) 12:35, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The fawning fan could be Lahiri himself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 103.12.156.5 (talk) 06:15, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As per the information cited on https://www.bappilahiri.com, he was born in the city of Kolkata/Calcutta, NOT Jalpaiguri. This information is also confused by the fact that some of his relatives lives in parts of Siliguri, which falls under the district of Jalpaiguri. CrezyT (talk) 17:11, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
