Nolan's movies[edit]

Is it even worth mentioning Batman Begins or The Dark Knight. The sections basically consist of "Gordon has a daughter, who may or may not be named Barbara and the only person who can establish her as the future Batgirl has no comment." Barbara Gordon may not even exist in Nolan's continuity, and even if she does, so far she's a completely irrelevant character. - Koweja (talk) 05:30, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

True, but readers of this article would want to know that Gordon has a daughter in these films. A gx7 (talk) 03:22, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Relevance of Barbara Wilson in this article[edit]

How is Barbara Wilson "clearly based on Barbara Gordon" as stated in the article? The characters have absolutely nothing in common with each other aside from both being named Barbara. Their backstories, costumes, and physical attributes are entirely different. That's like saying Barbara Wilson was based on Betty Kane because they both have blonde hair. Barbara Wilson should only be mentioned on the main "Batgirl in other media" page, not on the "Barbara Gordon in other media" page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.61.157.136 (talk) 20:18, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Screen adaptations frequently change character names and backgrounds for a variety of reasons but the character is still ultimately derived from the original material. And having little in common with her comic counterpart doesn't exactly make Barbara unique in that film. Timrollpickering (talk) 17:37, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

With regards to the presence of Barbara Wilson as a re-imagining of Barbara Gordon, I have cited the book source Batman & Robin: The Making of the Movie by Michael Singer. I've uploaded the scan on Imgur here for evidence of reference (which was kindly provided to me at my direct request, by the blogger from "I'll Get Drive Thru" that I initially cited). Do not post rumors that Jena Malone is playing Barbara Gordon.[edit]

Jena Malone has been confirmed to be in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but her actual role has not been confirmed as of yet. This article is not a place to post rumors, so please refrain from posting that she may play Barbara until her role is confirmed. This rumor has been posted and reverted several times in the past week. Amducker (talk) 02:15, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Killing Joke.[edit]

I don't consider pointing out that a character's role in a film has been changed and heavily criticized to be out of place in this article. The article is not named "Mention times the character has appeared in diferent media", if it was it could just be made up of about a hundred short sentences.

There is nothing unobjective about mentioning that a film has reviced negativce criticute, it's the truth in this case. It's not an oppinion to mention that.

If you dissagre that this article should be anything more than short mentions about what media she has appeared in you can gladly discus that here or oppen up a discussion on the WikipediaComics project.*Treker (talk) 12:34, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
