Where did his name come from?[edit]

Barzillai Beckerleg was the captain of the schooner Chyandour according to an anouncement of a daughter in the 254th edition of the Cornishman on 24th May, 1883, page 7. Hopefully later editions of the newspaper will clarify Barrie's unusual name. Did Chyandour carry coal for J H Bennetts? Jowaninpensans (talk) 07:36, 17 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • James Henry Bennetts was the son-in-law of Capt and Mrs Beckerleg (died Oct 1884 at the age of 68) according to page 7 of the Cornishman on 16th October, 1884. He was described as an agent for Llyvri and Pondu company. Was Barzillai Beckerleg, mentioned above, their son? Jowaninpensans (talk) 21:11, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
