Known for highlighting the irony and absurdity of politics

Commoner tells that "The peak of the campaign happened in Albuquerque, where a local reporter said to me, 'Dr. Commoner, are you a serious candidate or are you just running on the issues?'"

Be nice to include it in the article somehow. A "Notable Quotes" section, perhaps?

The only time Commoner got ANY attention at all from the mainstream media during the 1980 presidential campaign was when he quite deliberately used the word "bullshit". Cgingold (talk) 00:09, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

unsourced non sequiter

I cut this:

Commoner criticized Ronald Reagan and George Bush for regulating pollution and not preventing it.

Happy to reinstate if it can be sourced to a major media site. Littlemissfactchecker (talk) 19:21, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Environment magazine editorial from '71, "The causes of pollution"

Officially released online, editorial with Barry and includes many themes which are still spot on today, maybe we could add this somewhere? prokaryotes (talk) 18:58, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

Photo

@NedFausa: I don't think the photo is so bad? It's clearly identifiable as Barry Commoner. This photo was in the article for several months and only got removed because someone added a copyrighted photo. I added it back and then you removed it. Kingofthedead (talk) 08:04, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

I opposing using that photo, which is enough to scare young children out of several years' growth. I came here after seeing this tweet. When we trigger such reaction on social media, we're on the wrong track. Please, let's see what other editors think. NedFausa (talk) 12:32, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
