Infobox[edit]

As per the Greek victory in the infobox, I struggle to see how the Cypriot National Guard achieving most of its objectives doesn't constitute a victory. They not only rendered the Kokkina exclave useless (Which is still useless to this day given that to get to it, you need to pass the unoccupied territory unless you fly or boat in) [1], they captured 3 of the 4 villages they set out to (The 4th being Kokkina which Ive just been over). The overall aim was always to cut the supply line which was achieved, thus, making it a Cypriot victory.

There is misinformation within this article. Under the 'Action' section it states that the fighter pilot Cengiz Topel was beaten to death by angry villagers. This is factually incorrect as per Wikipedia's own information on the search page for Cengiz Topel which outlines how he was tortured and killed by the Cypriot National Guard. This should be corrected as it is distorting the truth — Preceding unsigned comment added by HDTK2021 (talkcontribs) 20:43, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cengiz Topel[edit]

This article incorrectly states that Cengiz Topel was killed by angry villagers. This is factually incorrect (see Wikipedia's own summary of Cengiz Topel). He was tortured to death by the Greek Cypriot National Guard and the full extent of his torture was uncovered upon the eventual return of his body. Any proof or reliable source on this claim?[edit]

"The latter were supported with air strikes from Turkey."
