Spoilers[edit]

There's a spoiler at the top of the page "Ramsay meets his fate" as a caption on the photo. I took it out once but someone put it back.

Is wikipedia no longer safe for avoiding spoilers? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.74.103.41 (talk) 17:52, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

An encyclopaedia is not a place to avoid spoilers. DonQuixote (talk) 18:04, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed image change[edit]

Hi all, really nice article, thanks to everyone who's worked on it. I propose we change the image in the info box to this one. It's more reflective of the content of the episode, and the content of the article. The central thrust of the article, and the most well known aspect of the episode, is the production of the battle sequence, and its high regard, which I've included as a caption. Also, it makes the article less prone to spoiling for readers who haven't seen it. I fully recognise that it's not Wikipedia policy to include spoiler warnings, nor that readers should come to an article and expect no spoilers. However this doesn't mean that a more spoiler-rich image should be preferred over a non-spoiler rich image by default. The article gets around 700 views per day - it's safe to assume some of them are from people who haven't seen the episode yet, who just want to find out what season/episode it is, or the air date, or director, or awards won or view ratings, etc. Even if only ten of them are from such people, that's ten people per day who come to the page and instantly see the ending, before they've read a word. But the spoiler aspect is really secondary - I mainly hold this alternative image to be better because it's more representative of the article and the episode.

Well done again on the article! Autonova (talk) 12:26, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing that you have reduce the image size and improved the caption, you can go ahead and change the image in the infobox. That is if no one else have a problem with it. Also the source is not needed in the caption just so you know, so you can remove it. - AffeL (talk) 12:50, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Okay thanks. I see we're working on improving the article to featured article status, is there anything in particular that we need to improve further to get there? Just wondering if I can help out. Autonova (talk) 12:54, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I was trying to get it to a FA status. But it turns that it was not as easy as I thought it was, being that the article has a large number of quotes and for FA it needs to mostly be written with our own words, not others. As you can see quite a lot of work is needed to get to that point. But if you want to help out with anyting GoT related: We are at the moment working on Game of Thrones (season 6) to get it to feature list status. - AffeL (talk) 13:16, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ah ok thanks, I'll have a think on some improvements! Autonova (talk) 13:51, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
