Excessive red links[edit]

I removed most of the red links today. Future contributors, please remember that internal links for crew names should not be added by default. They should only be added if the crew already has a wikipedia page, or if you intend on creating that page in the near future. Please see WP:REDLINK for guidelines. --Sesameball 18:52, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Undid revision re: no USA participation[edit]

There was an edit claiming that "no teams from the United States participate". This is patently false. American teams have won the BOTY International twice, and have participated in every BOTY world finals in the last 10 years except for 2002 and 2004. In 2004, Supernaturalz (from Canada) won the invite by winning the BOTY North America preliminary that year; a USA crew could have qualified, so really, we're talking about 9 out of 10 years. Especially as an American, I have long been a critic of the eurocentric nature of BOTY, but it is simply untrue to claim that the USA is excluded. In fact, USA is one of the few countries that have been granted direct invitations and not needed to qualify for the tournament. --Sesameball 06:37, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

History section missing?[edit]

this article doesn't seem to have much about the history & creator of the event, only the latest couple of years. I'll try add to this, as the earlier days were quite important in the bboying community. Kathodonnell (talk) 12:12, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Note on playoff bracket template change and interwiki linking[edit]

I noticed the awkward use of four-team bracket templates for a six-crew playoff, so I tried out Template:6TeamBracket-Cust for the Battle_of_the_Year#2014_season and it seems to look good. When I have more time, I'll switch all the relevant years over to the six-team bracket template. Feel free to comment on this change, and if OK, copy/paste as appropriate for future years. Also, I noticed that someone added an in-line wikilink to the Russian wiki article for Predatorz Crew. As per Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Linking#Interwiki_links, in-line interwiki links are discouraged, so I replaced it with Template:Interlanguage_link. -SesameballTalk 04:44, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
