Tidying Up[edit]

As with a few other Beverley Knight articles, I will be tidying this up in the coming days too. The opening body is far too extensive for a single and can be subcategorised. I'm going to create a "Background & Production" header so I can shorten the opening body and keep it more concise.

Maybe some extracts from the following can be included in the Background & Production header?

I've proposed the following changes to the article, any objections? I've kept a large proportion of the original text and shifted it around a bit. FruiChew (talk) 15:28, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Beautiful Night is the lead single released from British singer-songwriter Beverley Knight's fifth studio album, 100%. It was released via her own record label, Hurricane Records, on 7 September 2009 as a digital download only

Background & Production[edit]

The song was co-written by Knight and Ivor Novello award winner Amanda Ghost and produced by The Rural. Knight explained that the lyrics are about love and loss: "It's about holding on to the moment you are in", she said, "because sooner or later you may have to say goodbye to that person you love"

Critical Reception[edit]

Promotion for the single began with a behind the scenes look at the music video, directed by JT. The footage was posted on The Sun website on 13 July 2009. Jason Palmer of Entertainment Focus said "beautiful Night is a very melodic and catchy tune that could be a radio favourite given enough exposure... It's emotionally charged with an uplifting chorus and poignant theme throughout". Indie London's Jack Foley said of the song "Beautiful Night drops a great beat and some tinkling piano loops over a soulful set of vocals to deliver an early highlight". The official radio premiere of Beautiful Night was on 20 July 2009 on 96.4FM BRMB and was later added to the Radio 2 play list where it peaked on the B-list.

Organisation of the article[edit]

Hi there,

I think that quote is perfect for the background/composition section. I have moved the radio premiere to the top part of the article though as it is more to do with promotion than review/critical reception. It does not really need its own sub section, the video section could be expanded further mind!

Thanks for all your help in helping to expand the articles!
