Margaret Vinci Heldt[edit]

No mention of Margaret Vinci Heldt? She is the haidresser who normally gets the credit for creating the first Beehive. -- Nick (talk) 18:25, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Citation or it didn't happen. --67.180.106.165 (talk) 22:20, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Picture[edit]

A picture would be particularly relevant to this type of article. 207.112.51.208 (talk) 23:29, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I'll look for a properly licensed one on the internets. Ianboggs (talk) 01:57, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

B.B.[edit]

What about Brigitte Bardot? I don't know if her hairstyle is a real Beehive, but it is very similar, and people in France call it "choucroute"... 18:57, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

IS that really a beehive?[edit]

Princess Anne's hair is not what people will consider as a beehive, we need a picture of a more typical beehive. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.126.77.81 (talk) 16:28, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Beehives worn by men[edit]

Watch photos from the Cartoons (band) and know a beehive isn't a female monopoly. 83.85.143.141 (talk) 00:23, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Current images[edit]

They're not perfect. The subject in the lead image is too far away. The Winehouse is alright, and may be best. Commons has quite a few choices, although I wonder if all of those are actually beehives. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:08, 27 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There is a problem here. In about 1990 I knew a middle-aged woman with her original 1960s beehive intact. At least 99% of the images I've seen so far here or by Googling are BOUFFANT, and NOT beehives! And I'm old enough to remember the 60s too. Try really high and with microcurls everywhere, maybe like Marge Simpson. Even mini ponytails are called "buns" nowadays. That's crap too. Vince Calegon (talk) 10:12, 18 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
So Vince Calegon, is there one you think is right? Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 10:16, 18 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ugh, edit conflict. Yes, Marge Simpson is the paradigm! But I can't find a real-life one. Vince Calegon (talk) 10:17, 18 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
At Commons, what's the closest, in your view? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 10:21, 18 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I don't know enough about Wiki to know what Commons is. I'll leave it to the page's owner to find a photo that looks like Marge Simpson. Vince Calegon (talk) 10:45, 18 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Well Vince Calegon, if you see one here, please just say the filename and maybe I can put it into the article. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 10:49, 18 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

More images[edit]

I've placed the above photographs in Commons:Category:Beehive hairstyle, but don't know if they are truly beehive hairstyles (they sure are neat though!). If they contribute, feel free to add them to the article, or some other article/category more appropriate. Cheers, --Animalparty! (talk) 21:06, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
