Comments[edit]

I've lived in Belle Vernon for 20+ years and have never heard it referred to as "Lower Belle Vernon", thus I'm removing it.

Yeah there is no lower belle vernon there is just a North Belle vernon.

BVA 4 LIFE

To clarify the above posts, I was born in what is often called "lower" or "downtown" Belle Vernon in 1948. Belle Vernon (in Fayette County) & North Belle Vernon (in Westmoreland County) are two seperate boroughs with their own mayors, borough councils, police & volunteer fire departments. Belle Vernon is the smaller borough that lies primarily along the banks of the Mononghela River (some of Belle Vernon Borough extends to the higher ground to the northeast). My house is in the picture for this article (the left-hand, white one, on the hilltop) and is in Belle Vernon Borough. Lewgill (talk) 05:14, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
