Editors need to learn about ISBNs[edit]

A couple of misguided editors insist on including an invalid ISBN in the section "Bibliography / Books in French" for the item "(2013) Pharmacologie du Front national".

They prefer ISBN 2-0812-8461-6 Parameter error in {{ISBN}}: checksum. However, this ISBN causes a Checkwiki error #72 "ISBN-10 with wrong checksum", the original reason why I corrected the ISBN. Moreover, if these misguided editors would take the time to click on their erroneous ISBN in the article, they would see that Wiki responds with an error message "The given ISBN does not appear to be valid; check for errors copying from the original source". Finally, these misguided editors prefer an ISBN-10; such ISBNs have been superseded by ISBN-13.

I have done the necessary research to find the correct ISBN-13 for "(2013) Pharmacologie du Front national". Still, these misguided editors insist on reverting my change and calling for a discussion on the issue without ever writing a word in defense of their erroneous ISBN. In the meantime, I will continue to make the necessary editing changes to include the correct ISBN in the article.

Should this sentence be re-added?[edit]

The lead section for a long time included the following:

“He has been called ‘the most important French theorist to come after Derrida, and one of the most important thinkers anywhere about the effects of digital technology’.”<ref>{{Cite book|url=http://www.openhumanitiespress.org/books/titles/the-neganthropocene/|title=The Neganthropocene|last=Stiegler|first=Bernard|date=2018|publisher=Open Humanites Press|isbn=978-1-78542-048-1|language=EN}}</ref>

I find it to be useful information, but User:Lovemankind83 removed it. Should it be re-added? His obituary in The Guardian certainly supports the view that he was an important thinker on the effects of digital technology, and he is also described in Los Angeles Review of Books as “one of the most influential European philosophers of the 21st century.” AndrewOne (talk) 23:18, 23 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
